It’s scorching hot in Lisbon with long days and sunsets at 9 pm! The streets are filled with tourists and even the locals come out to play until late.
It’s clear Summer is upon us.
Here's what to wear for a fun-filled Summer Holiday.
What to wear
1. Fun flats
When the weather changes from cold to hot, I always look forward to stocking up on new shoes. This season, there is something seriously cute in store - Spring flats!
They come in all colours, with interesting shapes and creative details to instantly lift your outfit.
2. Oversized hat
Hats are abundantly available this season. Go for the floppy oversized version - easy to manipulate for the right amount of visibility when needed.
Other hats that are trending includes: the visor, the bucket hat, and dad hat. Whilst these are fashionable, they don't provide a lot of sun coverage.
3. Loose silhouettes
Think cotton, boho, linen, oversized, and broiderie anglaise dresses.
They are fresh, comfortable, and will never go out of style. Try a floaty, 70s-look maxi matched with a straw bag.
4. Badass sunglasses
Sunglasses are always a must for Summer.
Not only for the added protection, but a pair of ultra-cool sunglasses always manage to provide that effortless finish to any outfit.
5. Basket bags
Basket bags are big this Summer. In fact, basket bags have been popular for years and they just won't quit! Making them a safe purchase choice.
Designers are incorporating straw, wicker, rattan, canvas and even bamboo into their collections. There's bound to be a style you'll love.
6. Ocean accessories
You can't miss ocean accessories this season! Find them in statement earrings, layered necklaces, hair berets and bracelets.
You'll see these in contemporary designs that are full of attitude! Seashells are coloured brightly, and pearls are in imperfect shapes - in fact, the more imperfect, the better.
7. Sensible shorts
Shorts are a must-have. They are comfortable and suitable for a wide range of Summer activities. This season's take is looser, high-waisted and often with a belt - much more stylish than last season's Biker Shorts trend (remember that? *awkward smile*).
8. Flattering swimwear
This year's swimwear is all about making a statement. Colours are brighter. Prints are louder.
Pleats, cut-outs, ruffles, you have it all.
